👋 Hello again!
Today I’m sharing the twenty-two exciting startups from this summer’s MIT Delta V Accelerator program. I really enjoyed watching the founders pitch at Kresge Auditorium about a week and a half ago, but since then they have also pitched to more intimate audiences of investors and special guests in Palo Alto (Friday) and in NYC (yesterday). What an exciting (and exhausting) week for these teams!
Before sharing the startups, some quick background on Delta V….
Delta V is MIT’s most well know startup accelerator. In it’s eleventh year, this accelerator brings student entrepreneurs from across the university and beyond for a summer long program that culminates with the famous Delta V Demo Day. The startups who participate have gone on to do some pretty great stuff — last year’s study looking at a decade of Delta V teams found that, across 181 teams:
61% of these companies were still operating or had been acquired
63% of these companies had raised money, totaling $1B raised
38% of teams were later accepted to private / for-profit programs like Y Combinator, Techstars, and Mass Challenge
Delta V participants had gone on to start 130 other companies after Delta V, with $2B in additional dollars raised by these ventures
This year was one of Delta V’s most exciting and diverse cohorts to date. In particular, it was great to see that for the first time in Delta V history more than half of the cohort was female.
Trying something new this time around and grouping the startups thematically (using carefully picked emojis). If you like this format let me know in the comments!
